The chapel of Prophet Elias stands on the peak of “Prophet Elias’ Mountain”. It is a chapel constructed in the end of the 20th century, in 1996. The chapel was completed on the 22nd of September 1996, whereas its inauguration ceremony was held two years later, on the 18th of July 1998.
It is a small byzantine type chapel adorned by frescos, both internally and externally. The chapel’s surrounding yard is paved. According to the residents of Agridia, what is noteworthy is the fact that an invocation used to take place on the Monday of Easter at the location where the chapel is built today ever since the very old years. They also add that this space had always been a place of worshipping.
Finally, both the church and the chapel were constructed using peoples’ donations.
